Psiboman for Psion 3a beta v0.04 May 14, 1996

Software written by Steve Godfrey

The software and graphics are (c) Steve Godfrey and Phil Creed.
You may freely distribute copies of this software as long as no
charges are made for it. No part of the software or graphics can
be used for any other purpose without the prior consent of the
author (and so on...insert standard copyright smallprint here...)

Install Psiboman.app into any \APP directory, and all other files
into a \APP\PSIBOMAN directory on the same disk. You can delete
the .WVE files or replace them if you wish. The WVE and FON files
must be on the same disk as the APP

Any level files present will appear under the games icon in the
system screen. At present, just one level file is supplied,
Psiboman.dat, which has 5 levels

Changes since first beta release:

Completing levels:
a)You now have to collect all treasure in each level before entering
the next one. To leave a level you need to find the exit which will be
at a far edge of the level

Keys:
a)You can no longer drop a key in mid air and then use it to jump/climb

b)Keys can only be used once - opening a door removes both the key
and door from the game. More than one key/door of each type may
exist. Make sure you don't open the wrong door first...

c)Upto 4 keys/items can be carried at once

New lives:
a)Certain points in a screen have invisible markers which cause a
new life to start from that point (if you have passed that point),
rather than always starting from the point of entry to the current
screen

New functioning parts added - some need correct pairing up to work

Certain parts are not fully functioning yet. Those that don't are
currently only used as items to fill unused space in a level. The
current non working parts are: bombs (just explode and do
nothing), trampolene, flask and skulls. More parts will be added

You can carry upto 4 items at once. To pick up an item, move over
the item and press space. To drop an item, press d. The last item
picked up will be the one dropped. Each space can only hold two
items including any level graphics (excluding the Psiboman
character). A beep means drop elsewhere! 'Keys' have to be
matched up with the correct type of 'lock'. Some items do certain
things when dropped on top of one another. Other items have a
certain effect in certain rooms, either when carried or left
in that room. Enough said!

You can redefine the keys using the menu option, and set
whether you want sound and or key clicks while playing

The supplied levels are a taster of what the game can do,
but by no means use the game capabilities to the fullest.
Further levels will be available shortly with additional features

The graphics are fast, but the drawback is they jump from square
to square. It is possible to have levels with several dozen moving
parts, and if the game turns out to be addictive enough, I don't
think the jumping graphics are that much of a drawback
